gregg turner Originally from Southern California, transplanted to Northern New Mexico in 1993, was first initiated into the pop music scene back somewhere in the 70's as a writer for Back Door Man, Creem, BAM, Spin, Rolling Stone and others too similarly sordid to mention. His first musical endeavor was with an insect-tossing retro-rock beat combo known as Vom (like in Vomit - top 40 chartbusters the likes of "I Live With The Roaches" and "I'm In Love With Your Mom" big crowd favorites). Then came the punk-rock Angry Samoans of which Turner was co-founding member and co-singer songwriter. The Sam's produced 5 CD's (the last official release a 4-CD compilation entitled The Unboxed Set ) and developed a considerable following back in the 80's. In particular, the band had a rabid nucleus of fans in Boston, MA and Washington, DC., playing to audiences as large as 2000 over a span of 12 years (er, or was it 2000 divided over 12 years?).
